Privacy Policy

Updated 4 September 2026

In short: we collect exactly what the app cannot work without, we sell it to nobody, and we hand it back or erase it on request.

Who is responsible for your data

The person responsible for MeuMe’s data is Oleksii Bychek — a private individual, not a company. Questions, deletion requests and complaints go to meumeapp@gmail.com. We answer ourselves — there is no support department.

What we collect and why

Email — so you can sign in and so we can send letters about your events. Without it there is no account.

Name and photo — so friends recognise you in the participant list. If you sign in with Google they come from there; you can change or remove them in your profile.

Time zone and language — so we show the meeting time correctly and write in a language you understand.

The events you create: title, description, category, topics, time, place, coordinates, exact address, cover, cost, seat limit.

Your “going / maybe / not going” answers, votes on times, and ticks in the “bringing along” list.

The messages you write in an event’s chat.

If you turned on phone notifications — your device’s technical address and the keys used to encrypt a notification. This does not let anything be read from your phone.

What we do not do

We do not track you. The app contains no advertising pixels and no analytics.

We do not sell or hand data to anyone for money.

We do not collect your location on the server. When you open “Explore”, the browser asks for permission — and that point stays in your browser, to sort nearby events. It is never sent to us and never stored.

Who sees what

A private event is seen only by the people you gave the link to. It is in no search and on no map.

A public event is visible to everyone, even signed-out visitors: title, time, place, cover. But participants’ names and faces are NOT shown to guests — only a count.

The exact address (“how to find us on the spot”) can be hidden. Then only people who said “going” can see it.

Your name and photo are visible to other people who have signed in.

Who we pass data to so the app can work

Supabase (Ireland) — database, sign-in and image storage.

Vercel — the servers the app itself runs on.

Resend — sending email. Receives the recipient address and the letter text.

Google — if you sign in with the Google button. We receive email, name and photo from it.

OpenStreetMap and Nominatim — the map and address search. What you type goes there.

Open-Meteo — the weather forecast for an event. The meeting point’s coordinates go there, with nothing about you.

Mapbox — if the more detailed map is enabled.

Each of them processes data for us and on our instructions, not for themselves.

How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. Past events remain — they are part of the history of your meet-ups.

When you delete your account, your name, photo, settings, your “going” answers, your messages and the images you uploaded all disappear.

The events you CREATED disappear with you — including for the people who were going to them. Without a host the meet-up will not happen anyway, so the button asks twice.

One thing remains: reports filed ABOUT you. Otherwise deleting an account would erase the traces of what it might have been blocked for.

The internal log of letters that failed to send lives for a week and contains no addresses.

Your rights

To get a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, object to processing, withdraw consent.

The fastest route is the “Delete account” button in your profile. For anything else, write to meumeapp@gmail.com.

If you believe we handle data wrongly, you have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Cookies and browser memory

There are exactly two cookies, both technical: the one that keeps you signed in, and the one that remembers your chosen language.

Plus three marks in your browser’s memory that are never sent anywhere: whether you have already dismissed the hint about installing to the home screen, which “Explore” view you picked last time, and today’s date — so we count you once a day rather than on every tap.

None of them holds your name, your email or any number that could identify you. The last one gives us only aggregate figures: how many times a day the app was opened from the home screen versus in an ordinary tab. We need that to judge whether an App Store app is worth building.

There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and nobody follows you between sites — which is why you never saw a consent banner.

Children

MeuMe is not intended for people under 16. If an account turns out to belong to a child, we will delete it.

If this policy changes

The date at the top always shows the last edit. We will announce significant changes in the app.
